Characteristics of Cylindrical Tanks Shape and Design: Cylindrical Form: Cylindrical tanks have a cylindrical or round shape, which maximizes storage capacity while minimizing material use and structural stress. This design is efficient for containing liquids and gases under pressure or atmospheric conditions. Structural Integrity: Strength: The cylindrical shape inherently provides structural strength, distributing internal pressures evenly along the curved walls. This structural integrity allows cylindrical tanks to withstand high pressures and forces exerted by the stored contents. Stability: The circular base and uniform wall height contribute to the tank's stability, preventing deformation or bulging under load. Reinforcements such as stiffeners or ribs may be added for additional strength in larger tanks. Materials and Construction: Material Variability: Cylindrical tanks can be constructed from a variety of materials depending on the application requirements. Common materials include stainless steel, carbon steel, fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), and epoxy-coated steel. Manufacturing Methods: They are typically fabricated using techniques such as welding (for metal tanks), molding (for plastic tanks), or assembling prefabricated panels (for bolted steel tanks). Each construction method influences the tank's durability, cost, and suitability for specific environments. Versatility in Applications: Storage Capacity: Cylindrical tanks are available in a wide range of sizes and capacities, from small vessels to large industrial tanks capable of holding thousands of cubic meters of liquid. Applications: They are used across various industries including: Water Storage: For potable water, industrial process water, firefighting reserves, and agricultural irrigation. Chemical Storage: For acids, alkalis, solvents, and other corrosive substances in chemical processing plants and manufacturing facilities. Oil and Fuel Storage: In petroleum refineries, oil terminals, and fuel distribution centers. Food and Beverage: For storing liquids such as milk, wine, beer, and edible oils in food processing and beverage production. Maintenance and Accessibility: Accessibility: Cylindrical tanks are designed for ease of access and maintenance. Large access ports or manways are integrated into the tank design for inspection, cleaning, and repairs. Coatings and Linings: Depending on the stored substance, tanks may feature coatings or linings to protect against corrosion, enhance durability, and maintain product purity. Environmental Considerations: Leak Prevention: Proper installation and maintenance prevent leaks and ensure environmental safety by containing hazardous materials. Insulation: Some tanks may be insulated to maintain temperature stability for temperature-sensitive liquids or to reduce energy costs associated with heating or cooling. Customization and Integration: Modularity: Bolted or sectional cylindrical tanks offer modular construction, allowing for easy expansion or relocation as storage needs change. Integration with Systems: Tanks can be integrated with filtration systems, level monitoring devices, and automation controls to optimize operations and ensure efficient use of stored resources.

Laser Cutting

In ensuring the product quality of our glass fused to steel tanks and epoxy coated tanks, we have tight quality controls.

In manufacturing, the bolt & nut holes of steel sheets are laser cut – in which laser cut is more accurate compared to conventional punching machines.

Holiday Testing / Thickness Checking

Holiday tests will be conducted to detect coating defects/flaws; impact tests are also conducted to ensure the bonding of the coating meets the requirements.

After manufacturing the coating thickness is checked & verified to ensure the thickness requirement is met.

The abovementioned quality checking practices are crucial in ensuring the longevity of the product, for example a single spot/flaw could lead to corrosion that weakens the tanks; thinner layer of coating could reduce the life span against especially corrosive wastewater and slurries.

On the other hand during tank erection, some of the important practices including appropriate torque wrenches in ensuring the bolts and nuts are properly tightened up; optimum amount of sealants are being applied onto the plates in order to provide optimum level of bonding strength between the plates and no leakages, at the same time not causing any wastages.
